At best it was a difficult shoot that started out a tiny bit awkward for the simple fact Mike, Louises partner of eight years had beginners nerves or for want of another word: stage fright. I also feel a bit guilty that I didn't have my usual chat prior to meeting with both partners. I have worked with Louise Parker before with Sahara which was where I met her for the first time, so I feel honoured that she chose me to shoot her first boy/girl on the basis of that first time.
Mike wasn't very assertive and seemed to lack confidence in his own abilities. I am sure he is a amazing guy and everything as he is still in a relationship that seems to be a loving 1 after eight years. My powers of deduction lead me to believe the decision to make this clip was not made with altruistic motives. If there was then there would have not been a problem. The magic ingredient that was missing was; exhibitionism. This is the driving force behind almost all good sex scenes captured on film and lets face it, Mike is not an exhibitionist. That said though. He was getting the hang of it on the soft version and had I got to know him better we could have shot it the other way round. Soft then hard version last.
All things said and done though, it wasn't a disaster. Far from it. If anything it was as real as it could get in the circumstances that reminds me from time to time that I've been on a good roll so far and that every now and again, I will have my work cut out with editing. After all I managed to capture all the elements to make a scene work. The getting it up, the getting it in and the sperm shot. Which was fairly spectacular but the way in which it was achieved may not be that dynamic but hey. The best news is, what could end up looking like an average shoot may well end up being a whole lot more as Louise and Mike have offered to shoot their own scene in home made mode which should be a lot better than the effort we made today as well as being that bit more personal. We shall wait and see what they have in store for us.

I personally thought Amee has a Kirsten Dunst look about her. The again, she has been told she looks like Avril Lavigne. I aint doing too bad in the lookey likeys department in couples am I? Maybe I should do a Real Couples Celebrity lookey likey tape. Now that's a grand idea!
I think Neo had great ideas for the vid and as I said, Amees insecurity kind of stilted things abit . When the camera was of, she flitted around and was such a personable and innocent but mischievous at the same time that if I captured Amee like this you would have loved her so much…I mean it was beautiful even, watching her gyrate around the room on tip toes as if she was doing ballet (which she has done apparently). As soon as the camera went back on, the frivolity in her stopped. I'm sure she was playing a game of being difficult. I have incorporated a new approach to introducing these scenes by way of a not too intrusive interview with which I mov the couples separately then intercut their answers. This makes the info they give come across as more interesting, spontaneous and you get a general feel for their personality. I will try to find new approaches but the questions are based on:
What kind of couple they are. How did u meet? What do you most like about your partner? And, whats the wildest thing they have done together
Natasha and Rohman had ideas of using baby oil which I encouraged but because we used a friends house, they declined. We did this because they didn't want to shoot at their home where they share with other students and the day was far too sexy to be shooting in a hotel room. We would have died for sure, melting in a sweltering hot room.

Nancy from Playboy US got in touch via the Real Couples website earlier this year and after much internal discussion at STM HQ it was agreed I should assist them on producing a reportage they wanted to do about the site. Normally I um-ah about such things especially where British TV comes in but these guys were flying in from the US specially and I was fast to realise the potential doing such a show could have on raising the profile of the Real Couples site and of course, muy profile in association with it. I considered the downsides of another cameraman getting in the way of the shoot which I've experienced with my time working alongside John Mason. After months of planning I considered the aforementioned couples as suitable candidates to assist me on this project for several reasons.
One being that most normal couples would not have agreed to be filmed by anyone outside of me that was going to give them more exposure outside of the internet and dvd/ cable sales/ broadcast.
Two, the ability to perform in such circumstances with 2 different crews at the same time. Other factors aside, I considered my choices wisely with those who would indeed benefit from this opportunity.
Then before the moment came to pass, I decided I wanted to shoot the hard versions to make sure I didn't compromise on the quality of shoot the patrons of the site had come to know and respect, feeling, had I done everything, stills hard and soft versions on the day, I would have tired myself and my performers out to the point it would have been an uninspired shoot. It turned out this was a wise decision. After much shifting of dates I finally got round to shooting Taylor and Pete whom I met at the BGAFD . Taylor suggested I shoot them for Real Couples. The interesting thing was, I knew Taylor and Pete were not an item in the traditional sense, being more fuck buddies who met up on a porn shoot and hit it off so well, they socialise and have sex off camera with no remuneration for their cadences. The fact they are steady fuck buddies qualifies in my opinion and it showed on the day. I would describe Taylor as a drivng force in all the scenes she appears in. My earliest experience of her was on a shoot coming out soon on Naughty Shorties 6 with Mark Sloan, before her boob job where shehad blond hair. The personality hasn't changed one bit, just the looks that I would describe as “more extreme” in keeping with her sexual persona.

Finally met Lolly Badcock. And she was everything I had come to expect she was over the months leading up to this day. All I had to go on was word of mouth about her reliability, enthusiasm, dynamic performance and her wild “psychological” type scenes with Mick, her husband. Every couple brings something interesting to the table and I accepted this was it for them.
